Jenn Pilz

My name is Jenn Pilz and I have been an NMC member for three years and a member of the board for two years. My husband, Michael, and I live here in Newburyport with our big blended family. My daughters are Lily, 3, and Megan, 7. I also have two step-sons here in Newburyport: Jordan, 15, and Davi, 12, and although it’s hard for me to believe I also have a 22-year-old step-son in his last year of college in Pennsylvania! Michael and I have lived in Newburyport for almost four years and don’t have any family close by. The NMC has been such a great way for us to connect with other parents and make some wonderful and dear friends in the process. In my past life, I was a physical therapist, but after the birth of my second daughter, I decided to stay at home full time. I recently ventured back into physical therapy doing early intervention, which was a great learning experience. However, when I learned that we were expecting twins, I decided I’d better rest up for the next nine months to be better prepared for what’s ahead of us! I feel like our new motto should be the same as John and Kate Plus 8 (with a much better marital outcome, of course). “It’s a crazy life, but it’s our life.” The activities that I always make time for include working out, running, and spending time with friends. Other activities, like reading, skiing, and traveling are a bonus when I can find the time (and I’m thinking extra time will not be had again until I’m 50).
