Theresa Davis

My name is Theresa Davis and this is my first year on the board as a Newcomer Coordinator. When I moved to Newburyport over two years ago with my husband, Tommy, and young daughters, Dylan, now 4.5 years old, and Devon, now 2.5 years old, it was my third time as a “newcomer” within a span of five years. Before Newburyport, we lived in Amherst, NY, Williston, VT, and New York, NY, where Tommy and I are from originally. So needless to say I know how it feels to be new in town and new to parenthood, so I’m happy to help others get through that not-so-fun adjustment period. All these moves were corporate moves for my husband’s job and we’re hoping that three’s a charm and we’re here to stay, because we love the area, and have made many wonderful friends (thanks in part to NMC playgroups!). We love being so close to the beach and take full advantage of it all year long. Hopefully as the girls get older we’ll be able to get back into skiing since we’ve taken quite a hiatus from winter sports since they’ve been born. When I’m not with my family or friends (or cleaning, cooking, doing errands or fitting in some time for a run), I work part-time as a registered dietitian specializing in nutrition counseling for people with heart disease and diabetes in Manchester, NH. (I know it’s a hike but it’s against traffic!) I look forward to serving on the board and welcome ideas for newcomer events.
